About Atherton Tableland Information Centre in Atherton
Atherton Tablelands Promotion Bureau, trading as Tropical Tablelands Tourism (TTT), is the local tourism association representing the Atherton Tablelands, Tropical North Queensland - Australia. It was formed in 1986 under the auspices of the former four Local Government Authorities governing the geographic region of the Atherton Tablelands. Since it’s incorporation, the Bureau has slowly evolved by encouraging the private sector to take greater responsibility for the ongoing need to promote and market our tropical paradise. Local Government and Industry continue to work together with Representatives on the Board of Directors whose responsibility it is to manage and oversee the operation of the Bureau.
Tropical Tablelands Tourism works closely with Tourism Queensland; Tourism Tropical North Queensland; Tablelands Regional Council; Mareeba Shire Council; Tablelands Futures Corporation and other business and industry within the region and the Tablelands regional communities. As with non profit associations, Tropical Tablelands Tourism is administered by a Board of Directors elected at the Annual General Meeting. This group meet monthly to review the performance and activities of the association.
Mission Statement The role of Tropical Tablelands Tourism (TTT) is to support, promote, facilitate, and encourage development of, a professional regional integrated and successful Tourism Industry for the economic benefit of members and the Tablelands Community. Tropical Tablelands Tourism Board The Board of Directors consist of a maximum of eleven (11) persons all of whom are members of Tropical Tablelands Tourism. Directors serve a two (2) year term and elections are held at the Annual General Meetings.
